Celebs – YouBeauty https://www.youbeauty.com Be the Most Beautiful You - Personalized Tips for Smart, Spunky Women Wed, 23 Mar 2022 19:34:45 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.2.2 Is Jennifer Aniston’s Brand, Lolavie, Worth The Price? https://www.youbeauty.com/celebs/is-jennifer-anistons-brand-lolavie-worth-the-price/ https://www.youbeauty.com/celebs/is-jennifer-anistons-brand-lolavie-worth-the-price/#respond Mon, 21 Mar 2022 18:00:33 +0000 https://www.youbeauty.com/?p=175604 We all know Jennifer Aniston as Rachel Green and one of the most gorgeous women in Hollywood. But she is so much more than that. She’s a talented actor, producer, and entrepreneur.

Last year Aniston launched her hair care line Lolavie, but it is not the affordable brand we’re used to from her Aveeno ads. This is definitely a luxury collection, but is it worth it?

Aniston may have the hair of all our dreams, but is it thanks to these products?

First of all, the brand is cruelty-free, which is a major plus. They are even Leaping Bunny certified, which is a big feat for a new brand.

Furthermore, Lolavie is focused on sustainability. With recyclable packaging and water conservation, they are committed to environmental causes.

Now, all of this is great, but what about the products? As of right now, there are only two products available, but from the Instagram ads you might have seen, they are gaining a lot of traction.

Perfecting Leave-in (Shop here)

At $29, this is not your drugstore hair product. It has stunning black and white packaging featuring a cap that makes travel easier. It also has a handy pump.

This leave-in conditioner is multi-tasking. It hydrates, fights frizz, and smooths thanks to its 99% naturally derived ingredients.IT features a natural heat protectant, is vegan, and even repairs damage. It is safe for color-treated hair and is great for all hair types and textures.

What more could you want? Not much. The ingredients in this product are all-stars for hair care. It does contain fragrance that offers a luxurious experience, but for those who are sensitive, you may want to pass on this. Otherwise, this will help you get the blow out of your dreams.

With just one use, you feel softer and smoother hair that isn’t weighed down. All you have to do is comb it through damp hair, and you’re good to go with the rest of your styling routine.

If that wasn’t enough to convince you this is worth trying, its average review a 4.8 out of 5 stars.

Glossing Detangler (Shop here)

The glossing detangler is a lightweight mist that can be used on wet or dry hair. It also features heat protection but is more about the shine than the deep conditioning. This spray seals flyaways and makes hair easier to deal with. It smooths knots and tangles while offering major shine.

With a similar packaging to its counterpart, it matches the monochrome feel but has a spray nozzle rather than a pump. This is also a vegan formula with 99% naturally derived ingredients.

This is a much lighter product than the conditioner, so for those with thin or fine hair, you’ll want to go for this one.

Although you can use both, they have such similar ingredients that picking one should offer you everything you need from a haircare and styling product.

It seems like anyone could use either of these products, but using both might be a bit of a waste. It really depends on how dry or thick your hair is. If you want something that will offer a lot of hydration and care for your hair, the leave-in conditioner is best, but the spray is essential if your hair is easily weighed down.

Now we’re just waiting for more products to launch. Keep your fingers crossed for a shampoo and conditioner.

Should You Get Bangs? https://www.youbeauty.com/celebs/should-you-get-bangs/ https://www.youbeauty.com/celebs/should-you-get-bangs/#respond Mon, 15 Nov 2021 17:30:57 +0000 https://www.youbeauty.com/?p=175381 Every few months, a celebrity graces the red carpet with a fresh fringe, and everyone considers whether or not bangs are the right fit for them. And we get it. Bangs can add something different to your hair that stands out and amps up your look. But, as many of us have learned time and time again, there can be downsides to making the cut. So is it worth it?

There are many things to think about when wrestling with the idea of getting bangs. You have to worry about the styling options, potential forehead breakouts, and the grow-out time. But if you have tons of gorgeous photos of celebrities rocking bangs on your Pinterest and have yet to call and make a hair appointment, this is the article for you.

First up, before making any decisions, do NOT cut your bangs. This is never a good idea. Once you have them trimming them yourself is acceptable, but chopping inches of your hair off without a professional present will rarely have a positive outcome.

And then you have to think about your skin. Maybe in high school, getting bangs was a way to conceal forehead breakouts, but you should probably avoid that method as an adult. Bangs can add dimension to your look and give you unlimited styling options, but if you tend to have greasy hair and oily skin, it could turn out to be a disaster for your skin. Having your hair constantly lying on your forehead can cause breakouts and clogged pores. Not to mention oily skin can make your hair look greasy too. So if your hair is on the thinner side, be aware that dry shampooing your bangs will probably be a regular step in your routine.

Now that you’ve been warned, it is time to decide if a fringe will suit you. One way to check this is to try an online generator. You can upload a photo of yourself and see what you would look like with different hairstyles. This may not be foolproof, but it is less of a commitment than finding out you hate bangs on yourself after cutting them.

Another option is clip-in bangs. This way, you can have the style you want without the commitment. A significant fear before getting bangs is that you’ll get bored of them and have to suffer for upwards of a year, waiting for them to grow out. But with the great clip-in options available nowadays, you can get the exact look of real bangs without regret. This is our #1 recommendation as it comes with so many styling options, and you could change up your look every day. But getting clip-in bangs that are high quality can be a bit of an investment. So it’s up to you. Would you instead save money and get your bangs cut or invest in the convenience of a new hairstyle daily?

If your hesitancy has faded and you have decided to take the plunge, good for you. But which type of bangs are you going for? Walking into a salon and saying, “I want bangs,” probably isn’t the best plan. Search bangs on google images or Pinterest and see what you like best. A full fringe is a bit bolder. It also requires a bit more attention to styling. If your hair is frizzy, flat, or even wavy, you will most likely need to style them each day to avoid looking a bit wonky. So if you have the time for that and want to go all-in, go for it and rock your new bangs.

On the other hand, if a thick set of bangs is a bit too much for you, a wispy fringe may be exactly what you want. You can get away with a messy and undone look more easily, and this cut requires a lot less maintenance. Not to mention growing out wispy bangs is a lot less frustrating as they will blend into the rest of your hair more easily. This is also a great gateway style into fuller bangs if that happens to be your end goal. Try out a less intimidating style like this, and if you love it, you can always make it bolder later.

So, are you going to take the risk and rock a new style for the coming season or play it safe with angles and layers? No matter what you choose, we’re sure you will look fabulous with or without bangs.

Celebrities Who Hated Their Famous Roles https://www.youbeauty.com/celebs/celebrities-who-hated-their-famous-roles/ https://www.youbeauty.com/celebs/celebrities-who-hated-their-famous-roles/#respond Tue, 15 Sep 2020 13:30:20 +0000 https://www.youbeauty.com/?p=174142 When actors take on specific roles, it’s hard to imagine them as anyone else. No matter how many movies Jennifer Aniston will be in, she’ll always be Rachel Green to me. Some actors play the same character for years and are forever known as that famous role.

But some actors actually don’t like that. There have been many instances when celebrities hated their prominent roles. Maybe they didn’t like the character they were playing, or perhaps they didn’t like only being recognized as that. Some of these will truly be shocking to hear, but these celebrities actually hated their famous roles:

Penn Badgley as Joe in ‘You’
Joe in ‘You’ is a confusing guy. You want to hate him, but there’s also a part of you that’s deeply in love with him, as messed up as he is. And Penn Badgley is very much aware of that. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Badgley said how Joe is “always saying, ‘If only I could show you who I really am. Up until that point, he’s never been able to do that…Then he gets it, and he’s a total dick about it. That was when I was like, ‘Joe, I’ve never liked you less! I’ve never liked you less.'”

Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen in ‘Twilight’
Robert Pattinson’s role as Edward Cullen is definitely a character that he’ll always be known as. But not only does Pattinson hate Edward, but he also hates the whole ‘Twilight’ movie franchise. He even said once in an interview: “He’s the most ridiculous person…the more I read the script, the more I hated this guy…Plus, he’s a 108 year-old virgin so he’s obviously got some issues there.” Jeez, who would’ve thought?!

Kate Winslet as Rose in ‘Titanic’
Kate Winslet has had her fair share of well-known roles, but her most famous is definitely Rose in ‘Titanic’. However, she’s apparently not such a big fan of her own acting. She told Telegraph in an interview how she can’t even watch herself now, saying “I have a hard time watching any of my performances, but watching Titanic I was just like, ‘Oh God, I want to do that again.'”

Blake Lively as Serena Van Der Woodsen on ‘Gossip Girl’
Blake Lively as Serena Van Der Woodsen is pretty much the definition of an actor being known for their biggest role. Although ‘Gossip Girl’ is a widely loved and watched show, Blake Lively had her own quarrels with Serena. “I would not be proud to be the person who gave someone the cocaine that made them overdose and then shot someone and slept with someone else’s boyfriend.” She said in an interview with Allure. Yikes.

Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie in ‘Sex and the City 2’
At least with this one, it’s not ALL of ‘Sex and the City’… it’s just the second movie. The second movie definitely didn’t do as well as they hoped, and SJP once said in an interview that she can see where things went wrong with the film.

Shailene Woodley as Amy in ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager’
I actually recently watched ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager’ for the second time, and jeez, this show was cringey. Towards the end of her role as Amy, Shailene admitted to disliking the part as topics discussed in the show did not align with her own morals.

Zac Efron as Troy in ‘High School Musical’
Knowing Zac Efron doesn’t like Troy Bolton is only kind of heartbreaking. He once told Men’s Fitness how Troy did “some kind of cool things with some cool people—he did that one thing that was funny—but, I mean, he’s still just that f*cking kid from High School Musical.”

Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter in ‘Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince’
Daniel Radcliffe admitted to hating his acting, but only in this specific Harry Potter movie. “I’m just not very good in it. I hate it…my acting is very one-note and I can see I got complacent and what I was trying to do just didn’t come across.” he said in an interview with Playboy.

Celebrity Breakups That Broke Our Hearts https://www.youbeauty.com/celebs/celebrity-breakups-that-broke-our-hearts/ https://www.youbeauty.com/celebs/celebrity-breakups-that-broke-our-hearts/#respond Sat, 12 Sep 2020 03:25:48 +0000 https://www.youbeauty.com/?p=174095 Sometimes, when your favorite celebrity couple breaks up, it hurts more than your actual break up. There’s just something so heartbreaking about following along with your fave celeb couple and getting so excited when you see them together, only to have them break up. And although there’s no way we could ever truly know why they broke up, it still stings. There are some celeb breakups that pretty much everyone remembers. They were that shocking. Here are all the celebrity breakups that broke our hearts:

Emma Roberts and Evan Peters
The American Horror Story couple was on and off from 2012 to 2019 and were even engaged. However, they ultimately decided they were better off as friends. Emma Roberts is now happily dating Garrett Hedlund, and they’re even expecting their first child!

Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt
Are you #TeamJenn? Or are you #TeamAngelina? Regardless of who you liked better with Brad Pitt, it definitely broke many hearts when he and Jennifer Aniston split.

Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron
The only thing that stings more than your fave celeb couple breaking up is when they were a couple onscreen, too. Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron were an iconic love story, and their breakup broke all our hearts.

Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum
This one really came out of the blue. After nine years together and one daughter, the Step it Up duo called it quits. However, they are both now happily with other partners.

Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick
Low-key still have hopes they’ll end up together, someday. Their relationship was too iconic for them to not. Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick were together for nine years and had three children together.

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth
I don’t think I’m alone when I say that this one truly broke my heart. They were on and off for 10 years and married for six months before parting ways. At first, I had hopes of a reconciliation, but they both seem very happy apart.

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder
After that much sexual tension onscreen on The Vampire Diaries, there’s no way Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder couldn’t have liked each other in real life. They were together for a few years before amicably splitting up.

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber
Another one of the most infamous breakups of all time: Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber. They were on and off for a few years, and many fans still think Justin should be with Selena, but it doesn’t really matter, as he’s now happily married to Hailey Baldwin.

Celebrities You Probably Didn’t Know Were Dating https://www.youbeauty.com/celebs/celebrities-you-probably-didnt-know-were-dating/ https://www.youbeauty.com/celebs/celebrities-you-probably-didnt-know-were-dating/#respond Thu, 10 Sep 2020 19:00:23 +0000 https://www.youbeauty.com/?p=174086 There are some celebrity couples that just everyone knows (AKA, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds). Fans are obsessed with the relationship, and you just can’t imagine a better pair. But have you ever been randomly looking up a celebrity online, see who their spouse is, and realize you never even knew they were married to another celebrity?

Some couples prefer to keep their relationship more low-key. Still, it’s always so shocking when you find out that two stars are dating that you never imagined together. These are the celeb couples you probably didn’t even realize were dating:

Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet
The Game of Thrones actor has been married to Lisa Bonet since 2007, and the couple has two children together.

Lauren Graham and Peter Krause
When I found out these two actors were dating, I was genuinely shocked (mostly because they play siblings on the show Parenthood). However, Graham said in an interview that both being actors has made their relationship stronger.

Adam Brody and Leighton Meester
Unfortunately, Blair and Chuck aren’t together in real life. Leighton Meester is actually married to fellow teen heartthrob, Adam Brody, who starred in The O.C.

Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor
This couple started dating in 2015 but knew each other a while before that. They reconnected after 10 years and have been together ever since, but they prefer to keep their relationship very private.

Rami Malek and Lucy Boynton
I love when on-stage couples get together in real. That’s exactly what happened with Rami Malek and Lucy Boynton, who both starred in Bohemian Rhapsody.

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski
This couple is a little more well-known, but Jim and Pam from The Office are unfortunately not together in real life if you weren’t aware. John Krasinski and his fellow actress wife Emily Blunt have been married since 2010 and have two children together.

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden
Cameron Diaz has kept her relationship with musician Benji Madden pretty quiet over the years, but the couple first met in 2014, married in 2015, and have one child together.

Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser
Bledel and Kartheiser have been together since 2012 after meeting on the set of Mad Men, which Kartheiser starred on. They married in 2014 and have a daughter together, but the couple remains extremely private for the most part.

Celebrity Scandals That We Will Never Forget https://www.youbeauty.com/celebs/celebrity-scandals-that-we-will-never-forget/ https://www.youbeauty.com/celebs/celebrity-scandals-that-we-will-never-forget/#respond Wed, 09 Sep 2020 17:00:53 +0000 https://www.youbeauty.com/?p=174059 Some celebrity scandals are truly just imprinted inside my brain. No matter how much stuff goes on in my own life, I just can’t seem to forget about the drama that went on with people I don’t even know. Even though they’re celebrities, the scandals somehow still feel all too familiar. These are all the iconic celebrity scandals that we’ll just never forget, no matter how many years go by:

Winona Ryder’s shoplifting spree
It doesn’t make much sense why a celebrity would shoplift, but Winona Ryder managed to do it. In 2001, she shoplifted at a Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills and stole $5,560 worth of merchandise by just ripping off the tags and putting them in her bag. She was later convicted of grand theft and vandalism and had to do probation, community service, pay a fine, and go to counseling.

Britney Spears shaved her head
This is a scandal that’s still often talked about today. We all know about the infamous Britney Spears shaved head incident. In 2007, she shaved off all her hair and beat up a photographer’s car with an umbrella a few days later. 2007 was definitely not a good year for Britney Spears.

Kim Kardashian’s sex tape
Another scandal that’s still often talked about today- Kim Kardashian’s sex tape. In 2007, Kim had made a sex tape with her then-boyfriend Willie “Ray J” Norwood was made public. The tape was created in 2002 but came to light once Kim started to get more famous. The video is still open to the public today, although she did try to get it removed from the internet.

Chris Brown assaulted Rihanna
In 2009, news surfaced that Chris Brown beat up Rihanna, which seriously impacted Brown’s reputation. He reportedly punched, bit, and chocked her. Rihanna later discussed the incident in a 20/20 interview where she said how “It was ugly. I fended him off with my feet…but it was not like, it was not like a fight with each other. I just…I really just wanted it to stop.”

Kanye West interrupts Taylor Swift’s speech
We all know this scandal, but it’s so embarrassing that I can barely watch it. At the 2009 VMA’s, Kanye West interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech with the infamous line “I’ mma let you finish, but…” and said how Beyoncé should have won the award. Little did we know then that would only be the start of years of drama between the two.

Tiger Woods’s cheating scandal
I don’t know why, but I remember this scandal SO clearly. In 2009, it came out that the professional golfer had been cheating on his then-wife with a nightclub hostess. However, it didn’t stop there. One mistress turned into two, and quickly it was revealed how Wood’s had cheated on his wife with 14 different women. He then checked himself into rehab for sex addiction.

Miley Cyrus twerks
Miley Cyrus has had her fair share of scandals, but one of the most famous is when she twerked on Robin Thicke during their performance of “We Can’t Stop” and “Blurred Lines” at the 2013 VMA’s. The incident changed the way many looked at Cyrus.

Kendall Jenner’s Pepsi commercial
I genuinely wonder who thought this commercial would be a good idea. In 2017, Kendall Jenner appeared in a Pepsi commercial that showed the model using soda to make peace between cops and protestors. The ad was criticized for being insensitive and underplaying police brutality. Pepsi pulled the commercial the next day.

Sometimes couples find each other despite their age differences, and this applies to the celebrities as well. These celebrity couples are together despite the big age gap.

Ana de Armas and Ben Affleck

Although the age difference between Harrison and Calista is 22 years, she claims that it doesn’t affect their relationship. She is smitten with Harrison and says that she forgets he is older than her.

These Celebrities Double as Social Activists https://www.youbeauty.com/celebs/these-celebrities-double-as-social-activists/ https://www.youbeauty.com/celebs/these-celebrities-double-as-social-activists/#respond Tue, 08 Sep 2020 17:00:22 +0000 https://www.youbeauty.com/?p=174039 Being a well-known celebrity comes with a lot of power. You have millions of fans and followers across the entire world and a platform that influences many. And while some stars chose to remain relatively quiet in terms of social issues on their platforms, others use their massive following to speak up about important causes. Being a celebrity doesn’t have to be just that- you can be a friend, a mother, a spouse, and even an activist. These are all the celebrities who use their social platforms to encourage their followers to fight for change in the nation:

America Ferrera
America Ferrera is definitely no stranger to social activism. In addition to being an actress and author, she is also the founder of Harness, a nonprofit started by her and her husband that gives artists the chance to make a political impact. She is also an advocate for Families Belong Together, a campaign that reunites children separated from their families.

Reese Witherspoon
Reese Witherspoon helped to create the Time’s Up initiative, a movement against sexual harassment. The movement was started by various Hollywood figures, including Witherspoon, and was created in response to #MeToo.

Shailene Woodley
Shailene Woodley has been a dedicated environmentalist for quite a while and was even arrested at a protest against the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline in North Dakota back in 2016. She often uses her social platforms to speak up about sustainability.

Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga is not afraid to speak up about her own beliefs and use her platform as a way to influence others. She is an LGBTQ advocate and started the Born This Way foundation in 2012, which encourages kindness. She has also opened up about her own mental health struggles many times.

Beyoncé
Beyoncé never fails us with her unwavering dedication to various social causes, including the Black Lives Matter movement. She vocalizes her political opinions and encourages others to vote Democratic. She has also given multiple speeches about Black Lives Matter and the issue of racism in the country.

All The Celeb Babies That Have Been Born So Far in 2020 https://www.youbeauty.com/celebs/all-the-celeb-babies-that-have-been-born-so-far-in-2020/ https://www.youbeauty.com/celebs/all-the-celeb-babies-that-have-been-born-so-far-in-2020/#respond Fri, 04 Sep 2020 21:00:51 +0000 https://www.youbeauty.com/?p=173982 It feels like the past few days have been nonstop announcements of celeb couples welcoming home a baby. It’s always exciting when your fave celebs give birth and learn what the new baby’s name is. Because, let’s face it, celebrities never fail us when it comes to thinking of the most unique baby names.

Despite how quirky their names may be, these babies are pretty darn cute. These are all the celebrity babies who have been born (so far) in 2020:

Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn
Ed Sheeran and his wife Cherry Seaborn might just take the cake on the most unique baby name: Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran. He announced the news on Instagram, with the caption: Ello! A quick message from me as I have some personal news that I wanted to share with you… Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter – Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran. We are completely in love with her. Both mum and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Lots of love and I’ll see you when it’s time to come back, Ed x.”

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom
The birth of this baby has been long anticipated, but she’s finally here! She’s named Daisy Dove Bloom, a very fitting name from the couple if you ask me. The news was announced on UNICEF’s Instagram, with an adorable picture of Daisy gripping onto their fingers. “We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” Katy and Orlando told UNICEF. They are both UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors and asked for donations to support other expecting mothers who are not in the same position.

Lea Michele and Zandy Reich
Lea Michele and Zandy Reich welcomed home their new baby boy, named Ever Leo. Lea gave birth on August 20 and broke the news on Instagram a few days later. “ForEver grateful for this true blessing,” she wrote.

Katherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt
While the couple has yet to officially confirm their baby’s birth, reports from Entertainment Tonight showed that the couple welcomed home their first child together.

Selena Gomez’s New Cosmetics Line Will Launch on September 3 https://www.youbeauty.com/celebs/selena-gomezs-new-cosmetics-line-will-launch-on-september-3/ https://www.youbeauty.com/celebs/selena-gomezs-new-cosmetics-line-will-launch-on-september-3/#respond Tue, 01 Sep 2020 21:00:48 +0000 https://www.youbeauty.com/?p=173918 Selena Gomez is many things. She’s a singer, songwriter, actress, and producer. But the list doesn’t just stop there, Selena Gomez now owns her own beauty line! It’s called Rare Beauty, and Selena created it with a mission to embrace how you feel, rather than how you look.

“Beauty doesn’t have to be defined by a like or a comment, or your body,” She said about the cosmetics line. “The whole time we were creating [Rare Beauty], we were always under the notion that this was going to be also about mental health and creating a safe place for people to connect.”

Along with the cosmetics line, Selena also created the Rare Impact Fund, which aims to raise $100 million for mental health services for individuals in underserved communities throughout the next decade.

Selena put in WORK to not only make sure her brand fit her vision, but also that the makeup was actually good. She spent two years carefully creating the products, which includes 12 formulas, 100-plus shades, and three tools.

Selena Gomez has been very transparent about her own mental health struggles throughout the years, and she wanted her line to reflect that. In a recent Popsugar interview, she said how “I can transform when I wear makeup because it’s such a crucial part of my life. In film or TV, it creates a character. In music, it can be the whole point of a music video — your eyes, how you’re capturing them. It’s art, in many ways. But once I started getting to the point where I felt like didn’t need [makeup] to feel [beautiful], that was good. And that it was still OK if I did.”

The line will launch on September 3 and will be available in Sephora stores inside JCPenneys, as well as on Rarebeauty.com.
